About Mr Terence Chin
Terence Chin is a Melbourne trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery, including minimally invasive surgery.
He studied medicine at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1998. After completing his internship and basic surgical training at the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, he undertook orthopaedic surgical training in Victoria. He was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008.
Since completing his orthopaedic training, Terence has pursued further subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery both locally and abroad. In 2009/2010, he undertook a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Halifax Infirmary, Dalhousie University, Canada, under Associate Professor Mark Glazebrook (President of the Canadian Foot and Ankle Society). This included specific training in arthroscopic surgery, deformity correction (eg. bunion and lesser toe corrections), and the treatment of traumatic, sports related and degenerative conditions of the foot and ankle.
Terence has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, in particular minimally invasive bunion and toes corrections.
Key procedures performed:
Minimally Invasive Bunion and lesser toe corrections
Surgical treatment of flat feet (tibialis posterior dysfunction)
Post traumatic reconstruction and deformity correction
Sporting and degenerative conditions
Terence has a special interest and frequently uses minimally invasive and arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques in his surgery.
During your consultation, Terence will thoroughly assess and clearly explain your condition. He will discuss suitable treatment options, including non-surgical treatments if appropriate. In addition to performing careful and skilled surgery, Terence and his team of administrative and nursing staff commit to working collaboratively with you to achieve pain relied and improved function for your foot and ankle.
